Ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections in Maharashtra, the BJP and Congress on Monday held meetings to review the preparedness of their respective parties in the state.
BJP’s Maharashtra core group meeting was held at the party headquarters while the Congress’ meeting at the residence of its party president Mallikarjun Kharge.
The BJP’s meeting to review the preparations for Maharashtra Assembly polls was held in presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other senior party leaders.

Notably, the BJP-Shiv Sena-Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led Mahayuti alliance is confident that it would retain power in the state.
Congress chief Kharge along with Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, reviewed the party’s preparedness for the Assembly polls in Maharashtra in presence of party’s general secretary in-charge of Organisation KC Venugopal, party’s state unit president Nana Patole and other senior leaders.
Talking to reporters, Congress Maharashtra unit chief Patole said strategy for the upcoming Assembly polls in the state was discussed during the meeting.
“We will take forward the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance. We will contest on all 288 Assembly seats. Maha Vikas Aghadi will form the government in Maharashtra,” he said.
Notably, the Maha Vikas Aghadi on Sunday released a charge sheet against the Mahayuti Government, aptly titled Gaddarancha Panchnama.”
Accusing the ruling dispensation of corruption, the MVA in its charge sheet said, “The Mahayuti indulged in corruption even while building the statue of our revered icon, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Let us banish these traitors who dishonoured the legacy of Phule, Shahu and Ambedkar.”
On crime against women, the opposition said, “Atrocities against women and the lack of safety of our daughters in Maharashtra are the gravest sins of the Mahayuti. Let us teach them a lesson.”
Mentioning farmers, the MVA said, “Under Mahayuti, farmers are deprived of guaranteed prices and crop issues.”
Assembly polls in Maharashtra are scheduled to be held later this year.
